DSE MBA ADMISSION PROCESS

The admission to MBA (BA), MBA (IB) and MBA (HRD) courses is done through two layered process including:
1. Eligibility criteria
2. Final admission selection criteria

   Note:

  • An augmentation of 5 marks in the Composite score shall be provided to only those women candidates who do not fall under supernumerary seats (For supernumerary seats, see the Seat Matrix).

  • Overall negative CAT Scores will not be considered.

  • All subjects must be included for calculating Marks obtained in Class X and Class XII.

  • The candidate has to apply separately to IIMs for CAT 2025 and to the Department for the above programmes.

Category-Wise MBA Seat Distribution

*As per University rules, the seats for PwBD, CW, and foreign students (FS) , PG Ward quota, Orphan Quota categories are supernumerary.
*The reservation rules shall be applicable as announced by University of Delhi from time to time.
*The number of seats may vary depending on the rules and regulations of the University of Delhi.

   Note:

  • The admission procedure shall be strictly in accordance with the rules and guidelines as decided by the Admission Committee, Department of Commerce and  the University of Delhi. Further, the department shall adhere to the notifications issued by the University from time to time.


OUTLINE OF SELECTION PROCEDURE
Step 1:
Fill Application Form and pay Application fee
Interested candidates can check their eligibility and accordingly apply through
online application form along with the application fee.
Step 2:
Shortlisting of candidates for Group Discussion (GD) and/or Personal
Interview (PI)
The Department will shortlist the candidates for GD and/or PI based on their
CAT score. The cut-off shall be decided by the Admission Committee.
Step 3:
GD/PI and Verification of Original Documents
Shortlisted candidates shall be called for the GD and/or PI. The physical
verification of original documents will be done during that time. In case the
candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria and/or does not produce the
original documents and/or does not meet the guidelines and/or rules laid by
the Admission committee and the University of Delhi, his/her candidature shall
be cancelled.
Step 4:
Preparation of Merit List
Merit list of candidates will be prepared by the Admission Committee based on
the Composite Score as laid out by Admission criteria mentioned in the
Admission Brochure, and announced by it or the University from time to time.
Step 5:
Seat Allocation
The seats will be allocated based on the Merit list and the preferences of
programmes indicated by the candidate in the application form. Under no
circumstances the preferences can be changed.
The Merit List of selected candidates will be published on the Department of
Commerce’s official website
. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the
Admission Page for updates and announcements.
Step 6:
Intimation to selected candidates and Payment of fee.
Candidates whose names appear in the Merit list will be called for counselling,
as notified officially. Those allotted a seat after counselling will receive a
payment link for the course fee. It is the responsibility of the selected
candidates to complete the fee payment within the stipulated deadline. Failure
to pay the fee within the prescribed time frame will lead to automatic
cancellation of admission.



Note: The candidate has to apply separately to IIMs for CAT 2025 and to the
Department of Commerce for the above programmes.


Selection Procedure

Eligible candidates can apply online for admission to the MBA programmes: MBA (IB), MBA
(HRD) and MBA (BA) through the official website: www.commerce.du.ac.in.
While filling out the online application form, candidates must indicate their preference
order for the three programmes: MBA (IB), MBA (HRD) and MBA (BA). The preference of
programmes, once submitted, cannot be changed at any subsequent stage under any
circumstances.
These preferences will be considered while allocation of the seats post the Merit list is
prepared by the Admission Committee.



Note: The seats will be allocated as per the preference given here and thecandidate will be only allowed to upgrade to higher preference. So please choose the preference wisely.
